The Latest On Carlito Returning To WWE

As we previously reported here on eWn, WWE had targeted last week for Carlito’s return to the company.

However, he wasn’t backstage at last Friday’s SmackDown TV tapings at MSG. He traveled to the Northeast for the company that weekend. He was spotted waiting for a flight from Pittsburgh on Sunday, which is interesting as WWE’s medical program is headquartered in the Steel City.

Pwinsider previously reported that Carlito’s return on last week’s episode of Smackdown “would have been lost in the wake of the Bloodline,” so they pushed it back.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Carltio will be a SmackDown star going forward. He wrote,

“Carlito was originally scheduled to return on the 7/7 Smackdown show in Madison Square Garden, so the idea is he’s on the Smackdown brand. It ended up being canceled because of how much they had to cram into the show.“
