Enthusiasts and professional wrestling athletes are eager to see the potential of a Women’s Tag Team division in AEW, however, it is of note that championship titles are not expected in the near future.

In the past, a number of athletes have suggested the idea — notably, Saraya brought up in February how the establishment of championship titles could be a potent boost for the division.

Post the dynamic AEW Double or Nothing event, queries arose regarding the opportunity to integrate new titles which were shot down to Tony Khan. He responded,

“Absolutely, these have been points of discussion. We’ve mulled over numerous prospective enhancements pertaining to the championships. Currently, we see intense competition amongst the World Championship, TBS Championship, and ROH. In the landscape of both men’s and women’s divisions, there are several options to explore in the future.”

However, according to Fightful Select’s latest reports, there have been no substantial plans laid out for Women’s Tag Team Titles specifically in the AEW realm.

Previously, in the 2020 women’s tag team tournament, the closest we saw to the titles being seriously contemplated was when they were clinched by the team of Ivelisse and Diamante.

Despite this idea being proposed at different instances, there have not been recognizable “steps” to actualize the introduction of these titles.
