The popular wrestling show AEW Dynamite began airing on Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming platform, Max, earlier this year. However, the figures associated with the viewership on Max have not yet been shared publicly.
According to recent research conducted by BJ Bethel for SEScoops, AEW Dynamite attracts an average of roughly 500,000 viewers on Max. This contributes to a total viewership of about 1.1 to 1.2 million viewers each week, which includes direct audiences on TBS.
Reportedly, the wrestling show accumulates 60 million minutes watched every week, taking into account live views as well as views on the same day.
The significance of traditional Nielsen viewership metrics may be less critical for streaming services. For AEW Dynamite, the average viewership hovers around 500,000 per episode, which includes Live-Plus-1 ratings (live views along with added views within a 24-hour window). The report also points out that substantial weekly fluctuations can affect total streaming minutes.
As Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio points out, AEW’s streaming figures are “tightly controlled” and “unknown” to everyone within AEW. Thus, considering AEW’s unfamiliarity with its streaming figures, the reported numbers might be based on estimated logins rather than actual viewership.
Meltzer speculates that actual viewership could hover around 1.5 million on television with an added 500,000 from streaming, amounting to approximately 2 million viewers across both platforms.
To date, both AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery have not published official viewership numbers for Dynamite on Max.
