Liv Morgan is facing a potential spell on the sidelines after suffering a legitimate injury during a recent WWE RAW episode. On July 17th, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, and a week later, Morgan sought revenge for the attack on her partner, but her plans were foiled when Rhea Ripley brutally assaulted her arm and shoulder before the match even began.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the injury angle on television was used to cover for Morgan’s actual injury. While the extent of the injury remains unknown, if surgery is required, it could lead to a lengthy absence from the ring. The tag team title change was likely a way to prepare for the possibility of Morgan’s extended absence. Prior to the title change, Morgan had not competed since her victory at Money in the Bank, and there are currently no plans for her return.

Liv Morgan’s recent injury comes as a setback just weeks after her return from a previous shoulder injury. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion suffered the initial injury during a match on May 12th, which raised concerns about a prolonged absence. However, she made a surprise comeback before Money In The Bank, only to now face another period on the sidelines due to her current shoulder injury. That injury had also resulted in Morga and Rodriguez dropping the titles for a short while
