Kevin Owens is set to return to the ring soon after sustaining a legitimate injury during a backstage attack on the July 24th episode of RAW. The assault occurred during the main event match between Sami Zayn and Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship, with KO being targeted on the stage, leading to Mysterio’s victory.

Owens was later shown receiving treatment for a fractured rib, confirming the seriousness of the injury. However, according to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the time off will allow him to heal, and his absence is not expected to be lengthy. Therefore, there should be no need for WWE to take off the tag titles from KO & Sami, whether by way of relinquishing or a title change.

While the exact time and cause of Owens’ injury remain undisclosed, it is believed that he had been dealing with the issue for some time. His last match was on July 17th when he teamed up with Sami Zayn to face off against Judgment Day. Despite the setback, wrestling fans can anticipate his return to the ring in the near future.
