Anna Jay will forever be grateful to the late Brodie Lee for helping her immensely after she became a part of AEW and the Dark Order.
On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Blue teamed with Julia Hart, Saraya, and Ruby Soho, in a loss to Anna Jay, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, & Thunder Rosa.
On Twitter, AEW shared a post-match promo from Anna Jay in which she reflected on being a part of the Dark Order and working with Brodie Lee. She said,
“He’s really what started me here in AEW. He was here from the beginning when I was signed at 21, he kind of took me under his wing. I was in the Dark Order to begin with and he’s somebody who kind of showed me what was right, what was wrong, what to do, what not to do and really helped me a lot.
“Now not having him is obviously really difficult, but tonight really sparked something in me that I haven’t had since then. He’s somebody who kind of gave me a lot of hope in the beginning. Recently, I just haven’t really had it and you know what, I feel like tonight, like I said, kind of sparked that in me. I feel like I’m ready again.”
Lee passed away in December 2020 and AEW would host a tribute show to him shortly after. His wife Amanda currently works for the promotion.
