TNA Wrestling has revealed that the current holders of the TNA World Tag Team Championship, Matt and Jeff Hardy, have renewed their contracts with the organization.
This year saw the return of the Hardy brothers to TNA, with Matt coming back in April and his brother Jeff following suit in June.
Below is the announcement in detail:
“Holders of the TNA World Tag Team Championship, Jeff & Matt Hardy or The Hardys, have recommitted to TNA Wrestling with new contracts, as initially disclosed by Sports Illustrated.
The Hardy brothers have a professional wrestling career that started as early as 1993, having won a plethora of championships throughout various decades. The Hardys were once acclaimed by WWE as one of the best tag teams in all of WWE history. They hold a unique credential of having been champions of WWE/World, WCW, TNA, ROH, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Both Jeff and Matt are celebrated for their energetic, high-risk wrestling style. In 2003, they co-wrote a memoir which became a New York Times best-seller.
Their third victory of the TNA World Tag Team Championship came in October, where they outperformed the former champions The System (comprising of Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) and ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey) in a thriller ‘Full Metal Mayhem’ match.
JEFF HARDY
Personally, Jeff has always had a deep interest in motocross, creative pursuits such as music and painting. He debuted in TNA in 2004 in a showdown with A.J. Styles for the TNA X Division Championship. To date, he has thrice been the TNA World Champion encompassing 249 cumulative days.
MATT HARDY
Debuted with TNA in 2011, Matt’s novel “Broken” persona was well-received and has fetched several Best Gimmick awards. Matt has been a two-time TNA World Champion. While growing up, he used to play football and baseball, and went to Union Pines High School situated in North Carolina.
Final Resolution by TNA Wrestling is scheduled for Friday, December 13 at Center Stage in Atlanta, with live broadcasts via the TNA+ app starting at 8 p.m. ET. Ticket booking can be done at Ticketmaster.com.
