In a recent conversation with “TVInsider,” the Hardy Boyz, aka Matt and Jeff Hardy, candidly discussed their current period in TNA Wrestling, comparing it to their past experiences in the Anthem-owned enterprise.
Here are some standout excerpts from their lively podcast chat:
Matt gave his perspective on how their current TNA stint is stacking up against their last one seven years ago, saying, “We’re genuinely satisfied. We couldn’t be happier with the way things are going. The overall TNA atmosphere, the behind-the-scenes dynamics, everything has been absolutely spot-on so far. They are positioning myself and Jeff in scenarios that set us up for success. They are using us at our full potential, leveraging our standing as legends, which is odd to admit. But their strategy with us is maximizing our impact.”
Jeff shared his thoughts on how the management style at TNA has evolved noting, “Personally, I see a wealth of opportunity. There’s a vast pool of untapped potential within me. I have a deep-seated trust in TNA, being on my third stint here. There are so many achievements I haven’t unlocked that I aspire to do so before my career winds down. Being at TNA, I feel I’m exactly where I need to be in 2024. Both as a tag team and individually, we are ideally positioned for 2024. It’s genuinely thrilling to envision the contributions we’re primed to make.”
Jeff took a reflective tone about how things might have turned out: “Indeed, had I adopted ice baths in my 20s and 30s, I might have been as prominent as John Cena in the wrestling world. I regret not incorporating it earlier in my career since it’s been obviously advantageous for me. Matt shares this practice too. I wouldn’t say I enjoy doing it, but seeing its benefits, I always look forward to its completion.”
Matt shared his enthusiasm for Rhino and Bob Ryder being inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. “They make for fantastic inductees”, he commented, “Rhino, particularly being in Detroit, truly embodies the ‘Detroit Rock City’ ethos. I’ve known Rhino for 24 years, and he’s highly deserving. He’s someone who’s put in relentless efforts into wrestling and contributed a ton. Bob Ryder is one of a kind- a cornerstone of TNA at the outset. Without his involvement in TNA’s early dialogues, it’s doubtful TNA would exist today. His contributions were pivotal in establishing TNA’s repute. I’m euphoric that his dedication is being rewarded with the Hall of Fame recognition.”
