The Hardy Boyz Want A Shot At The WWE NXT Tag-Team Championships

Emerging victorious in a New York Street Fight at WWE NXT: Roadblock, Je’Von Evans managed to best Ethan Page, fing a winning springboard cutter while Page was immobilized by a chair.

Sadly, after his victory, an unexpected blackout provided the perfect cover for the newly formed NXT mystery group, which debuted at Vengeance Day, to stage a surprise attack. Evans was brutally beaten and left unable to move after a vicious double powerbomb.

Since their first appearance, this group has been on a rampage, assaulting multiple wrestlers such as Oba Femi, Fraxiom, Josh Briggs, Yoshiki Inamura, the No Quarter Catch Crew, and Robert Stone.

Maintaining their reign, the Hardy Boyz managed to keep their TNA World Tag Team Championships at WWE NXT: Roadblock by overcoming reigning WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, Fraxiom.

The match started the show, with Jeff Hardy claiming victory after landing a Twist of Fate and Swanton on Nathan Frazer. This victory seals their third title reign that has lasted 137 days since they scooped the titles at Bound For Glory.

Post their success, the Hardy brothers showed an eagerness to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Championships next.

Check out some post-show “Digital Exclusive” highlights below:

Matt Hardy, speaking about the match: “Tonight’s moment was breathtaking. The response from these New Yorkers at Madison Square Garden was just unparalleled. It was thrilling and addictive. We’re four decades in, and we’re still experiencing magic moments like this in our career. Competing against these guys at this show, on this event, for NXT… it made our evening special.”

Jeff Hardy shares thoughts on a future title shot: “I have a reflection and a query to share. Their hearts function like rocket-boosters. This is the most agile team I’ve ever encountered in the ring. Now, my question is, do we qualify for a shot at the NXT Tag Titles now?”

Matt Hardy’s take on a potential title shot: “They’re extraordinary. I can’t sing their praises loud enough. They’re fantastic, and they’re the NXT Tag Team Champions for solid reasons. However, tonight, we successfully defended the TNA World Tag Team Titles and maintained our reign. We defeated them, but unfortunately, the NXT titles weren’t at stake. Hopefully, the next time round, we could compete for the NXT Titles – a title yet to be added to the Hardy’s trophy cabinet.”
