On May 20, 2024, WWE’s Sonya Deville made a comeback from a serious ACL injury she encountered in August 2023. She proposed an alliance with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.
The agreement to form a three-woman force was not immediate but happened over several weeks. This newly formed faction seemed poised to directly compete with Damage CTRL. However, the group went unnamed for about a month. The name was finally made public during the WWE Monday Night Raw showcase.
Just prior to their match against Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s position, Deville introduced their crew as The Pure Fusion Collective.
Unfortunately, the new name couldn’t bring them luck in that match. The Pure Fusion Collective did not succeed due to interference from The Unholy Union. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn attacked both teams, leading to the match being halted without declaring a winner. There may be a silver lining, though, as this could potentially pave the way for a Triple Threat match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
