WWE has dismissed the possibility of holding a crossover event with All Elite Wrestling in the near future, as confirmed by Chris Legentil, the Executive Vice President of Talent.
In 2024, WWE has demonstrated increased willingness to collaborate with other wrestling groups, including Pro Wrestling NOAH, Marigold, and their continuous alliance with TNA Wrestling.
Legentil, who also serves as the EVP of Talent Relations and Chief of Communications, clarified WWE’s stance on a potential WWE-AEW event during his guest appearance on the Sports Media podcast hosted by Richard Deitsch. He stated,
“Zero interest. To be perfectly clear. While there are exceptional talents who aren’t part of WWE currently, it isn’t an insinuation. Simply put, there hasn’t been any discussion concerning such an event.”
Intriguingly, Legentil’s remarks come in the wake of AEW President Tony Khan expressing that he would “love” the opportunity for a WWE-AEW crossover event to transpire.
This week, Khan attended a meeting with WWE veteran Shane McMahon to deliberate on potential future collaborations, stirring up speculation regarding McMahon’s potential engagement with AEW.
