WXW Is Joining Premier Streaming Network

World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW), one of the most storied independent professional wrestling promotions, owned and operated by World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer and one half of the The Wild Samoans, Afa Anoa’i, is bringing their star-studded catalog of events, as well as new content, to Premier Streaming Network. Beginning in 2024, WXW’s matches, past and present, will be available on Premier, but on Thursday, November 9th, Premier will have a special WXW preview on the debut episode of ‘The Wrestling Hour’ with Josh Shernoff and Dave Sturchio.

On the first episode of ‘The Wrestling Hour,’ Shernoff and Sturchio will show a talent-loaded match from WXW’s 1998 Sportsfest event featuring D-Lo Brown and Owen Hart, with Mark Henry vs. The Love Connection (Georgie Love and Jay Love) with The Rock and Mick Foley/Mankind on commentary.

“I’m incredibly excited for WXW to join Premier Streaming Network,” said Josh Shernoff, Chief Content Officer with Premier. “WXW’s vast library of events and matches is a significant piece of wrestling history that we are proud to bring to fans around the world. This marks the first time these events have been available for streaming, and it holds a special place for me personally. I began my journey to become a pro wrestler in January of 2001 at the Wild Samoan Training Center under Afa’s tutelage. Their legacy means a lot to me, and I’m thrilled to contribute by making old footage accessible and bringing new events to audiences worldwide.”

EC3, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Worlds Heavyweight Champion, recently took to Twitter to express his opinion on headlocks in professional wrestling. According to EC3, headlocks in the NWA are effective weapons that serve multiple purposes.

In his tweet, EC3 highlighted three key aspects of headlocks in the NWA. Firstly, he mentioned that headlocks tell a physical story. In professional wrestling, storytelling is an essential element, and headlocks can be used to convey various emotions, struggles, and strategies during a match.

Secondly, EC3 emphasized that headlocks allow competitors to avoid aimlessly throwing soft forearms and half-hearted kicks that all sound the same. This statement suggests that headlocks provide a more realistic and impactful alternative to certain strikes commonly seen in wrestling matches.

Lastly, EC3 stated that headlocks in the NWA actually work. This implies that the NWA places importance on maintaining the authenticity of moves and ensuring that they have a genuine impact on the opponent.

EC3’s tweet encourages fans to chant #HEADLOCK and promotes the idea of a new era in professional wrestling. He believes that headlocks can contribute to this new era by providing a more effective and engaging wrestling experience.
