During this week’s episode of WWE NXT at the historic ECW Arena, the Dudley Boyz, consisting of Bubba Ray Dudley and Trick Williams, made a triumphant return. They formed a daunting duo to take on Ethan Page and Ridge Holland in a thrilling showdown on Wednesday.
An unexpected twist in the match saw Holland rolling up Williams and succeeding in pinning him down. However, following the match, Ray stepped in to safeguard Williams from Ridley and Page’s attack, sending Holland flying out of the ring. Sticking to their iconic style, Ray and Williams carried out the classic Wazzup headbutt from the top rope, with Bubba directing Williams to bring out the tables.
When Williams was unable to find any tables, D-Von emerged from the backstage with a table, setting the stage for Bubba and Trick to chokeslam Page through it. Clips from the match are available below:
Also during Wednesday’s episode of NXT, Tony D’Angelo was pitted against ECW veteran Nunzio for the NXT North American Championship. There was apparent dissatisfaction from Nunzio earlier in the show about D’Angelo’s lack of communication about his arrival in Philly. However, a quick victory led to D’Angelo extending an olive branch to Nunzio, leading to a ceasefire and post-match handshake.
Rob Van Dam lent his support to Je’Von Evans during his face-off against Wes Lee on this week’s episode of WWE NXT. Despite Lee overpowering Rob Van Dam backstage to keep him from interfering, RVD made a timely arrival which ended up distracting Lee allowing Evans to gain the upper hand.
The final highlight of the show was a hardcore match in which Jaida Parker yielded a brick to secure victory over Lola Vice, with Dawn Marie functioning as the guest referee. At one crucial point in the match, Parker overpowered Vice, hit her with the brick, and delivered a successful Drive-By, thus winning the match. Highlights from this encounter are available below:
