On his time in ECW and working with Paul Heyman: “You know, I was only there for two instances, and each time was just for a few hours. So as far as a lot going on there, there wasn’t much going on there. I spent more time with Paul Heyman at WCW. And Paul and I talked extensively about him managing me. So that was something that was tossed around quite a bit between us. And then I left.”

On the ECW product: “I thought it was a bit much, you know. Come on. Yeah, it was definitely a bit much. Princess Kimona Wanalaya, I thought that was a good one. Blue Meanie…great guy, great guy!”

On Tommy Dreamer: “Oh, he’s a great worker. Great worker. Hell, I DDT’d him one night [that he worked there].”

WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts recently shared his thoughts on the ECW product and his interactions with Paul Heyman on his podcast, “The Snake Pit.” Although his time in ECW was brief, Roberts had some interesting insights to share.

Roberts revealed that he was only present in ECW on two occasions, and each time was for just a few hours. He mentioned that he spent more time with Paul Heyman at WCW and they discussed the possibility of Heyman managing him. However, nothing concrete came out of those discussions, and Roberts eventually left ECW.

When asked about his opinion on the ECW product, Roberts admitted that he thought it was a bit much. He felt that some aspects of the promotion were over the top and excessive. However, he did mention a few individuals whom he appreciated during his time there. Roberts praised Princess Kimona Wanalaya and referred to Blue Meanie as a great guy.

Roberts also had kind words for Tommy Dreamer, describing him as a great worker. He even mentioned an incident where he DDT’d Dreamer during one of Dreamer’s matches in ECW.

Although Roberts’ time in ECW was limited, his insights provide a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes dynamics and his personal experiences with key figures in the promotion.
