On a recent episode of his podcast, “The Snake Pit,” WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts engaged in a conversation about Jake Hager’s recent exit from AEW, and pondered over Hager’s future.

Roberts on Hager exiting AEW, he said, “I don’t know, man. I was taken aback to learn he was gone. It was entirely unexpected.”
With regards to what Hager lacks, Roberts simply said, “The correct guidance.”
When asked about whether Hager benefitting from a defined gimmick, Roberts responded, “I don’t think so. His gimmick is himself. [A shooter] That’s a trait that can be maximised.”
Referring to coordinating matches with Randy Savage, he exclaimed, “Not a bit. ‘Meet you in the ring’… he was aware we would proceed my way.”
