Sika Anoa’i, a WWE Hall of Famer and father of Roman Reigns, has died at the age of 79, as confirmed in a recent eWn report. Following the news of his passing, tributes from the wrestling world have poured in on Twitter.
WWE officially announced the sad news and extended heartfelt condolences to Anoa’i’s loved ones. Sika will be remembered for his remarkable career as one of the Wild Samoans, teaming up with his brother, Arthur “Afa” Anoa’i Sr. Their unique style and fearsome presence made them great WWE stars in the late 70s and early 80s. The pair won the championship of the tag team division three times. Post his career, Sika, along with Afa, established The Wild Samoan Training Facility where they trained the future WWE Superstars, including Batista. His sons, Rosey and Roman Reigns, further carried his legacy in WWE. The Wild Samoans were honorably inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
A tweet from the wrestling organization AEW mourned the loss of the legendary Wild Samoan, Sika, while TNA expressed sorrow over the passing of the legendary Samoan wrestler.
