On Tuesday, a press release was issued by The CW Network announcing the upcoming premiere of WWE NXT in October. As reported earlier on eWn, WWE NXT will host TV tapings in Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO.

The official press release reads as follows:

THE CW NETWORK LAUNCHES “WWE NXT” WITH LIVE SHOWS IN CHICAGO & ST. LOUIS

The first NXT events on The CW network will be broadcast live from the Allstate Arena with wrestler CM Punk in Chicago on October 1 and the Enterprise Center with Randy Orton in St. Louis on October 8.

BURBANK, CA (AUGUST 6, 2024) – WWE and The CW Network have announced today that NXT will travel to the Allstate Arena in Chicago on October 1 and to the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on October 8, as part of its much-anticipated broadcast television debut on The CW Network.

The live arena shows will have special appearances by WWE superstars CM Punk in Chicago and Randy Orton in St. Louis.

Tickets for both events will be on sale from Thursday, August 15, 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.com.

A five-year deal between The CW Network and WWE was struck in November 2023 to bring NXT wrestling to broadcast television for the first time. As the exclusive home of NXT, The CW will air 52 live weekly events throughout the season.

Overseen by WWE Veteran Shawn Michaels, NXT has been running since 2012 and boasts some of the best new talent in sports entertainment. Many of the wrestlers in the last WrestleMania have come through NXT. The audience for NXT is primarily young adults and has grown 20% in viewership among Adults 18-49 year-to-date.

The CW Network continues to expand its roster of live sports, which includes ACC football, basketball games, Pac-12 football, and LIV Golf. The network is also home to “Inside the NFL”, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and will soon offer over 500 hours of sports programming annually.
