After the conclusion of the NJPW Soul episode aired on 3rd July, the final contenders have been established for both the A Block and B Block G1 Climax 34 qualifying games.
Oleg Boltin triumphed over Hiroshi Tanahashi, while Taichi clinched a victory against TJP and paved their way to the finals of the B Block qualifying tournament. The showdown is scheduled on the episode of Soul airing on 5th July. This is a significant loss for Tanahashi, as it marks the first time he won’t be present in the G1 since 2001.
In the other side of the bracket, the A Block qualifying games saw successful victories for YOSHI-HASHI against Tomohiro Ishii, and Callum Newman against KENTA. These champions too are scheduled for a duel on July 5th. Ishii’s absence from the G1 tournament will be the first since 2012.
The eventual winners of both tournaments will secure the final spots in the A Block and B Block respectively. The suspense is building as fans eagerly await the outcome.
