On a recent installment of “Busted Open Radio” podcast, professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the reason behind Karrion Kross’ gimmick failing to impress on WWE’s main roster.

Take a look at some noteworthy points from the podcast down below:

Speaking about Karrion Kross, Bully Ray stated, “Regrettably, Karrion Kross has encountered one of the most significant alterations to his character that I’ve seen in a long while. His portrayal alongside Scarlett Bordeaux in NXT was incredibly compelling. The anticipations were high for their entrance, his matches, and even her flipping over the hourglass.”

Discussing the “Dollar Store Lord Humongous” character by Vince McMahon, he expressed, “It was heavily characterized… I don’t believe he has ever truly recovered from that phase. It’s not clicking with the audience.”

In terms of The Final Testament’s effectiveness, or lack thereof, Bully Ray shared, “Altogether, the character feels a bit too ’80s presently. These big, post-apocalyptic warriors… everything is so dark and threatening. The problem is that it’s not striking a chord with the viewers. They have not defeated anyone convincingly enough for the audience to take notice.”

Below, you can find the podcast “The Raw After SummerSlam 2024: Randy Orton Challenges Gunther | Busted Open”, in which Bully Ray discusses these points further.
