Professional wrestler MJF recently joined the “WrestleTalk” podcast as a guest where he engaged in a discourse that covered several aspects, ranging from the dynamics within the AEW locker room to the potential media rights deal for the company.
Here are some of the notable points from MJF’s chat on the podcast:
Responding to QT Marshall’s recent statements, MJF said, “I want to be completely candid here. In my opinion, this doesn’t break the fourth wall at all. When ‘leaks’ happen, it’s unfortunate because most of the time, it’s either false or greatly exaggerated. The camaraderie in the locker room has never been better. It’s the most positive work environment I have seen, based on what I’ve been told. People generally don’t converse with me or socialize with me, and I prefer it that way. It appears everyone is in harmony, except their mutual dislike towards me. The unity seems to extend beyond individuals, towards All Elite Wrestling as a whole, as everyone is trying to propel the brand forward.”
Discussing AEW’s potential upcoming TV contract with WBD, he said, “From my understanding, we’re nearing a decision about a significant windfall from Turner. If we secure it, we’ll become the most successful wrestling company, after WWE, of all time. Why isn’t this being discussed more? I believe the reason it’s not script for you is because it doesn’t serve your monetary interests. I don’t mean to criticize, but it’s true. I’m a recognized figure, one of the biggest in the industry—that’s a fact. I stir up a bit of a storm and can be somewhat controversial. What’s controversial about you stating, ‘If they land this TV deal, they will literally become the second most successful wrestling brand in history’?”
