Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill were eyeing a chance to retrieve the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Their hopes were dashed by The Unholy Union duo Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn who managed to hang onto their title using some questionable tactics.

Even though they fought valiantly, it looked like the reigning champions were about to lose the championship. Unexpectedly, Blair Davenport appeared on the scene to lend her support to Fyre and Dawn and help over-power the challengers, ultimately leading to a disqualification. However, the rules as they are, a championship doesn’t switch hands due to a DQ, which means that despite losing the match, The Unholy Union still remain the championship holders.

“WHAT THE?!”

It’s unclear if this surprise coalition is here to stay or will extend beyond the week, perhaps evolving this threesome into a fully-fledged stable. Considering that Davenport’s appearances on main roster have been infrequent since she joined in the 2024 WWE Draft, this may be WWE’s strategy to repurpose her into a role that would offer her more screen time.

Given they won the match, it’s expected that Belair and Cargill will get another shot at the tag titles down the road. This might even spark Naomi to join forces with them to counteract the imbalance, especially considering her history of support for them and opposition to Davenport.

What’s your opinion on this surprising development? Do you approve of the Davenport, Dawn, and Fyre alliance? Do you think the championship should have changed hands? We’d love to hear your thoughts, so do share in the comments section below!
