Tetsuya Naito Returning For NJPW World Tag League

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Tetsuya Naito will return from injury to compete in this year’s World Tag League. The former IWGP Tag Team Champion suffered a knee injury on the first night of the G1 Climax back in September at the hands of current IWGP Tag Team Champion Zack Sabre Jr., taking Naito out of competition and inflating the scores of every A Block competitor.

Naito was happy to report there was no ligament damage in his knee, meaning there was no need for surgery or any major procedures. After a couple of months of rest and relaxation, Naito is ready to team with SANADA for this year’s tag tournament.

It was a painful injury, and I needed time to heal, but on November 14, in Korakuen Hall on the first night of World Tag League, I will be back. My partner? Of course, SANADA. I messaged SANADA yesterday, and all I got in response was a thumbs up emoji. That’s pretty on brand, right?

The teams for World Tag League have not been announced yet. At Power Struggle on Nov. 6th, Tiger Mask & Yuji Nagata announced they would be teaming up, despite Tiger Mask being one-half of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Champions with Robbie Eagles.
