In a recent episode of the WrestleBinge podcast, WWE Hall of Fame inductee Teddy Long provided his insights on how WWE superstar Bill Goldberg can enhance his performance. He proposed that spending time in WWE NXT could be beneficial for Goldberg, particularly in preparation for a possible showdown against GUNTHER.
Here are a few standout comments from the podcast discussion:
Teddy Long, talking about a possible Goldberg vs. Gunther face-off said, “I actually believe it was smart to hint at a confrontation between Gunther and Goldberg. A number of fans veered towards Goldberg due to the Bret Hart episode where Hart repetitively claimed that he was a problematic colleague and was prone to injuring others. In my opinion, Goldberg is still capable of a few more bouts, possibly more. However, what could have been done previously, although I can’t verify if it was, remains a mystery.”
Discussing the idea of Goldberg training in NXT to remove any lingering ring rust, he added, “They could have considered sending Goldberg to NXT for a round of training sessions that could last two or three weeks. This would have assisted him in removing the rust and he could have sparred with Shawn Michaels and other veterans based there. This approach would have assured his readiness for his faceoff with Taker. In my opinion, Goldberg was not adequately prepared for that encounter. If they are planning to pair him against Gunther, they should consider having him train at NXT for a period of two to three weeks and he would be ready. By doing so, I am confident we’d witness a remarkable match between Goldberg and Gunther.”
