Cody Rhodes might have escaped a burst eardrum injury during the Elimination Chamber if rehearsals had been conducted, claims Teddy Long.

At the peak of the show, performer Travis Scott landed a hefty slap on the side of Rhodes’ head. This incident reportedly led to his eardrum injury and a resultant black eye.

On a fresh episode of the wrestling podcast “Wrestle Binge”, Long addressed the unfortunate incident that ended in Cody Rhodes sustaining a burst eardrum and a black eye. He asserted,

“If somebody’s gonna hit me in my face like that, that hard,  I’m gonna get with them and let them know this is how you do this. This is how it works. And practice that with them.”

Long further mentioned that the traditions of the WWE, under the leadership of Vince McMahon, included rigorous rehearsals and practices for significant events.

The WWE veteran argued that Rhodes’ injury could have been prevented if someone had taken the time to instruct Scott on the technique. He suggested a proper demonstration might have averted the mishap.

Cody Rhodes appeared on the newest episode of WWE SmackDown with a noticeable black eye. During the show, Rhodes threw down a challenge to John Cena, saying, “come and get some”.
