On a fresh episode of the podcast “Wrestling Time Machine”, Teddy Long made some impressive assertions about John Cena and his latest transformation into a villain. He expressed,

“Indeed, I feel this was the most advantageous transformation John Cena could’ve ever embraced. He’s going to ace this villain persona because, in reality, that’s who he is. This is merely my view. I’m just articulating thoughts, so don’t misconstrue it or start a fuss. I’m just speaking from my personal experiences, I’ve been around him, I’ve collaborated with him.”

Long did not provide any concrete justification for tagging Cena as a heel in real life. It’s noteworthy that Cena holds the most admirable record of granting the most number of wishes under the Make-A-Wish initiative.

Despite hailing Cena’s character transition as one of his best moves, the former SmackDown top-tier executive also expressed his critique. He voiced,

“I think they might have overlooked something. From viewing the transformation scene, I noticed only a kick. C’mon, you need to give me a little more than that. If you had given him a kick, then the Rock signaled him, and then you gave him the FU, that’s what I would have loved to witness.”

The antagonist transformation of Cena represents his first portrayal of an on-screen heel in over two decades. He opted to stay silent and not explain his actions in the post-Elimination Chamber press interactions.

John Cena is all set to go head to head with the reigning WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, at WrestleMania 41. Cena’s objective is to claim his 17th WWE World Championship title.
