In a recent discussion, ex-WWE SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long shared his thoughts about the new WWE ID program on SportsKeeda. Here are some salient points from the interview:
Talking about the worth of WWE ID-associated training centers, he said, “The respective schools have been successfully operational and have produced a vast amount of eminent talent. I’m aware that Cody Rhodes and others have nurtured several wrestlers who have subsequently joined AEW. Seth Rollins’ academy, Black and Brave, have also had an impressive roster of emerging stars. These four centers have served as models for others.”
Commenting on how the program enhances the prestige of the institutions, he added, “It lends a certain validation, it’s in line with NXT.”
In relation to the WWE ID plan, Marek Brave from the Black & Brave Wrestling Academy talked to KWQC about his freshly accredited WWE ID institution.
About the academy’s inclusion in the program, he shared, “We at Black and Brave are thrilled to be a part of the WWE’s developmental scheme. The objective of the program is to highlight institutions that adhere to proper training methods. Having the WWE endorsement signifies that fledgling wrestlers worldwide can rely on us for thorough training.”
Discussing the WWE ID scheme by large, he expressed, “The focus is currently on independent talents that the WWE is interested in monitoring as they advance in their careers. In the future, the program may shift attention to independent wrestling organizations themselves.”
He also spoke about the community’s support for wrestling, saying, “The Quad Cities have consistently been supportive of professional wrestling, from independent promotions like SCW Pro to our own Black and Brave Wrestling for the past decade. The Quad Cities have a passion for professional wrestling, and we’re thrilled to contribute to that right here.”
