Teddy Long has recently expressed his openness to having Bobby Lashley and MVP joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW). However, he insists that the wrestling promotion must avoid repeating the past and present something different to the fans.
In recent times, it has been speculated that Lashley and MVP plan to exit WWE. Rumors suggest they are looking into reuniting as a team at AEW.
During an episode of Sportskeeda’s “The Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Long discussed the potential of these two wrestlers joining AEW. He stated,
“That’s a possibility because every man needs a paycheck… The other thing too you know. I’d like to see ’em there but then in a way I wouldn’t like to see ’em there because if they go there, now it’s going to be like how they are going to be used. They can’t go in there, like Bill said, they can’t use the name The Hurt Business. Like I said, I wouldn’t even recreate that. I’d create something brand new for AEW. That’s what I would do.”
Lashley and MVP have a long history together under the banner of The Hurt Business where the duo’s camaraderie led Lashley to secure the United States Title and the WWE Championship.
Word around the wrestling world is that Lashley and MVP are also interested in bringing their former teammate Shelton Benjamin, who was released from WWE in September 2023, onboard with them in AEW.
Cedric Alexander, the fourth member of The Hurt Business, is still associated with WWE and has recently made a comeback to WWE NXT.
