On Andre The Giant not liking Big John Studd: “No, he didn’t like him at all. And again, obviously, here’s a guy who is not that good and is big. And when you’re Andre the Giant, it’s kind of like, Andre’s like, ‘There’s only one giant. Ain’t you, John’… A lot of people have the same thought about John Studd as Jake, me, probably — I don’t know if you asked Hacksaw. What a bad guy, big strong guy and again, obviously willing to lie to get back in. [laughs]”

On Studd not being a good worker: “To me, there were a lot of big guys, and there were a lot of big guys that — you know, there were some that were, you know, decent workers. To me, nobody topped Andre. Andre mastered the skill of being able to get in the ring with somebody that’s half his size and find a way to make the people believe that he just might lose. That’s hard to do. But Andre could do it. I mean, how many people who got in the ring with Andre were as big as Andre? Nobody… I didn’t have anything against [Studd]. It wasn’t that. But it’s just that — he was very big and impressive but that’s about where it ended. To your point, couldn’t work, right? You know, whoever’s in the ring with it has to lead him. Andre could get the match and tell whoever he’s working with what to do and how to do it. ‘Here’s what we’re gonna we’re gonna do.’ I’m saying Andre had that ability. Johnston did not.”

On not wrestling Andre: “You know what, I never did. I’ve never had a match against him. I was always his tag team partner. And that is — that’s smart. You don’t want to miss out on the big man’s bad side. And I don’t think — he didn’t like Jake for some reason.”

In the world of professional wrestling, there have been many legendary figures who have left an indelible mark on the industry. One such figure is Andre The Giant, a larger-than-life character who captivated audiences with his immense size and charisma. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase Sr. shared some interesting insights about Andre The Giant and his relationship with fellow wrestler Big John Studd.

According to DiBiase, Andre The Giant did not like Big John Studd. He explained that Andre believed there could only be one giant in the wrestling world, and that was himself. DiBiase recalled Andre saying, “There’s only one giant. Ain’t you, John.” This animosity between the two wrestlers was evident in their interactions both inside and outside the ring.

DiBiase also commented on Studd’s wrestling abilities, stating that he was not a good worker. While there were other big guys in the industry who were decent workers, nobody could compare to Andre The Giant. DiBiase praised Andre for his ability to make the audience believe that he could lose a match against someone half his size. This skill was a testament to Andre’s talent and his mastery of the wrestling craft.

In contrast, DiBiase felt that Studd lacked the same level of skill and finesse in the ring. He mentioned that Studd relied heavily on his size and strength, but lacked the ability to lead a match. DiBiase explained that Andre had the unique ability to guide his opponents and dictate the flow of the match, whereas Studd needed someone else to lead him. This disparity in their wrestling abilities further fueled Andre’s dislike for Studd.

Interestingly, DiBiase revealed that he never had a match against Andre The Giant. Instead, he always served as Andre’s tag team partner. DiBiase acknowledged that this was a smart move on his part, as he did not want to risk getting on the giant’s bad side. He also mentioned that Andre had a dislike for another wrestler, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, although the reason for this animosity remains unknown.

Andre The Giant’s legacy in professional wrestling is undeniable. His larger-than-life persona and incredible in-ring abilities have made him a true icon of the industry. Despite his dislike for Big John Studd, Andre’s impact on the wrestling world will forever be remembered.
