In a recent episode of his podcast “Everybody’s Got a Pod,” WWE Hall of Famer, Ted DiBiase Sr., shared his thoughts about the most outstanding gimmick featured by a WWE wrestler in the 1980s.
Take a look at some of the important points from the podcast mentioned below:
Commenting on which WWE wrestler had the most impressive gimmick during the 1980s, DiBiase Sr. said: “There were a multitude of gimmicks, but Jake’s gimmick caught my attention, it was truly incredible. He has a lot of stories about dragging that darn snake along. Like, he would take the snake out of its carrier and place it in the hotel room’s bathtub, altogether. He would then turn the lights on as they provided the needed heat. He once said, ‘I wake up, stroll over to the bathroom, and the snake vanished.’ He looked underneath the bed but found nothing. But on a second look, the snake had crawled under the bed and was hiding in the frame.”
When asked about the impression that Jake Robert’s fame wasn’t self-earned, but due the snake gimmick, he retorted: “That’s utter nonsense. In my view, Jake was truly popular. He was someone I enjoyed collaborating with, and his gimmick had a crucial role in it. So if the gimmick was popular, then essentially Jake was popular. Considering my gimmick was the Million Dollar Man, I can relate to that. If you asked me to name the top five interviewers, Jake, my friend, definitely ranks among the top five.”
