In a recent episode of the podcast “Everybody’s Got A Pod”, former professional wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer, Ted DiBiase Sr., commented on the relationship between Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior. He pondered the question that has been circulating around wrestling fans for years: was Hulk Hogan jealous of The Ultimate Warrior?

Podcast highlights reveal Ted DiBiase Sr’s thoughts on the subject:

Regarding Hulk Hogan’s comments about the Ultimate Warrior’s readiness and hinting jealousy, DiBiase Sr. said, “I don’t believe that’s the case. Everything Hulk stated was accurate. Unless he had a seasoned wrestler like himself or me guiding him in the ring, the Ultimate Warrior was often found clueless. He struggled to call a match. Although his incredibly built physique was adored, it was Vince McMahon’s ego coaxing, ‘I can prove I can turn anyone into a star.’ This decision led to the Ultimate Warrior’s fame, but it was a fleeting gleam.”

Regarding his presence in town for the entirety of WrestleMania 6 week, DiBiase Sr. refuted, “That’s not the case. Interviews for such major shows were usually done much before. Gene Okerlund used to conduct them with talents from both faces, the good and the evil. These promos were a precursor of their TV appearances. These days the shows are live every week, but back then, three weeks’ worth of shows were taped simultaneously, along with their accompanying interviews held in a backstage room with Gene.”
