During a recent episode of his podcast, “Everybody’s Got a Pod,” WWE Hall of Fame member, Ted DiBiase Sr., shared his thoughts on various subjects, including the decision of WCW to host Hog Wild at Sturgis, as well as his level of concern regarding his position in the wrestling organization. Here are some key points from his discussion:
Concerning the choice by WCW to conduct Hog Wild at Sturgis, DiBiase Sr. questioned, “Whose idea was this? There are quite a few bikers who may view wrestling as merely a spectacle. The intention is definitely to put up a good show.”
DiBiase Sr. also spoke about his lack of concern over losing his position in the organization. He stated, “Truthfully, I was never overly worried about my spot card. It’s infrequent that I would worry after my initial one and a half, two years working under Bill Watts. God, I’m grateful now, beginning my career under his guidance, I learned so much from him. He indeed had one of the greatest minds in wrestling. As long as I was considered important, as you can’t perpetually be in the spotlight. Sometimes, after a successful run, losing the championship, you might need a break from the main event. But that definitely doesn’t mean you won’t continue to be an essential part of the show.”
