Uganda-based grassroots organization, Soft Ground Wrestling, has been making quite a splash on social media due to its unique DIY approach. Tate Mayfairs, a wrestling promoter, aware of this growing popularity, has taken steps to establish a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial assistance for the group.
The fundraising campaign is targeting £10,000 (close to ,500) with the idea of helping Soft Ground Wrestling achieve very specific targets. These include procuring the land they currently train on, improving the facilities, stocking up on essentials like food and medicine, acquiring knee pads and first aid supplies, and ensuring a regular supply of water.

Moreover, Soft Ground Wrestling recently added a new milestone by presenting a championship belt to its roster, owing to the generosity of Royal Belts and Micheal L Ledesma.
The organization has also set the wheels in motion for a tournament to decide who will be the first to hold the Soft Ground Wrestling Champion title. Details of the tournament can be seen below:
“And we can’t thank @royalbelts and Mr. Micheal L Ledesma enough for the donation of a brand new Soft Ground Wrestling championship belt. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. Our tournament is already underway with the new belt. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts.”
