In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Japan, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA stated that the new generation of NJPW talents is lacking in sex appeal when asked about the Reiwa Three Musketeers — Yota Tsuji, Shota Umino, and Ren Narita. He said,
“I have high expectations for the Three Musketeers. I really have high expectations for them. They are the future of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.”
“Yes, that’s right (I am going to show the difference between them & I). That generation still lacks sex appeal. Well, it can’t be helped in terms of their careers. I feel there is a difference. I feel that sex appeal is more important than how well they play the game. It’s more about attracting attention. I think that’s why there are no popular guys in that generation.”
SANADA will compete at Impact Wrestling’s Emergence pay-per-view event on August 27th.
WWE Superstar Tamina was backstage at Saturday’s Impact Slammiversary 2023 pay-per-view event.
Pwinsider is reporting that both Tamina as well as former WWE talent Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) were backstage at the Impact pay-per-view event to support Trinity in her Knockouts Title match against Deonna Purrazzo, which Trinity won.
Tommy Dreamer’s appearance at Sunday night’s Impact Wrestling TV tapings in Windsor is his first since April when he took time off due to the passing of his mother and treatment for skin cancer.
AEW wrestler Ricky Starks won the men’s Owen Hart Cup tournament on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, defeating CM Punk in the finals in a controversial fashion.
Following the match, Starks yanked away the trophy that was being presented by NJPW legend Jushin Thunder Liger.
NJPW President Takami Ohbari took to Twitter to address the incident, writing,
“Where is your respect?”
