During the August 2, 2024 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, new WWE Tag-Team Champions were crowned.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship remained with The Unholy Union due to an interference by Blair Davenport resulting in a disqualification. However, #DIY’s Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa weren’t as fortunate. Despite having a hometown advantage, they ultimately lost to The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu, who cleverly turned the numbers game in their favor to win the WWE Tag Team Championships during the main event. The victory was clinched with Fatu pinning Gargano.
Post this win, The Bloodline carry added momentum into WWE SummerSlam 2024, where Solo Sikoa is scheduled to go up against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Bloodline Rules match.
