Discussions between CM Punk and Chris Jericho are not expected to be fruitful according to those within the company.
Last week, news broke that Punk’s return to AEW is in the works and it is believed he will make his TV return this June.
There have been plans for Punk and Jericho to sit down and discuss things in a meeting in which FTR would serve as a neutral party.
Speaking on “PW Torch,” Wade Keller explained that some in AEW aren’t optimistic that this meeting will help things. He said,
“Among the people I’ve talked to, there’s not a high level of confidence that the meeting is going to go well, that it could make things worse, but maybe not. Maybe things will work out.
“But people who have been around Punk, know Punk, know people who have known Punk for a very long time, are not optimistic that FTR mediating a meeting between Jericho and Punk is going to lead to progress.”
Jericho reportedly called Punk a cancer to AEW following AEW All Out, while Punk branded Y2J a “liar” and a “stooge” during his controversial post on social media earlier this year.
Despite the issues between the two, it has been reported that Jericho will be Punk’s first feud back if The Elite does not want to work with him.
