Ishimori is currently a member of the Bullet Club; he is a three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and he has also held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champonship twice, among other titles. Deppen remains one of the most renowned names in independent wrestling, and he regularly competes for Ring of Honor as a member of Violence Unlimited.
Speaking of Deppen, he’ll warm up for this bout wih Ishimori by facing comedian Ron Funches at GCW Highest In The Room on September 17. The two men had a heated confrontation at the company’s The Art of War Games event, where Funches was on commentary. Deppen called Funches to the ring and slapped him, and the comedian responded by tackling his rival to the mat and subsequently challenging him to a match.

Earlier this year, in an interview with ComingSoon.net Managing Editor Tyler Treese, Funches discussed his interest in announcing for professional wrestling, as he had already gained some experience on commentary. He expressed his hope of ring announcing someday.
“…For the pro wrestling, yes, right away,” said Funches. “All day, any day, if they want me to announce I’m in. Want me to take a chokeslam from someone? I’m open. I love it. I’d love to do something in the ring on television. I’ve been fortunate enough. I did a scene in the show, A.P. Bio on Peacock, where I got to be a wrestler. I got to be announced by Lilian Garcia, who was the WWE announcer for a long time. So I was like, “Oh, maybe this is the closest I’ll ever get it.”
“But hopefully, one day, I can do it in the ring on an actual WWE or AEW [show] or whoever. That’d be great.”
Little did anyone know that, just a few months later, Funches would be stepping in the ring to wrestle.
WrestleZone will have more information about the show and Funches’ match as it becomes available.
