In a recent episode of the eWn, we disclosed that numerous persons associated with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) have proposed plans to have renowned rapper Kendrick Lamar on board for an upcoming event, taking a leaf from WWE’s book when they invited Drake to their Elimination Chamber event in Toronto.
Swerve Strickland, an acclaimed wrestler, was invited on the “Unlikely” podcast where he responded to these circulating rumors. He emphasized that the news of Kendrick joining AEW was as much a news to him as it was to others, indicating that he had no prior knowledge of this.
During the podcast, Swerve shared his insights on this, saying, “Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know why you’re talking to me about that. Every time there’s a hip-hop rumor in the air, they approach me about it? I’m like, I have no idea. If he pops out, that’d be great. Kendrick, I’ve never met the man. I don’t have close ties with TDE. Interestingly, I am friends with Isaiah Rashad. That’s the only connection. Less known is the fact, when I was Isiah Scott in WWE, I took on the name Isaiah as a tribute to Isaiah Rashad. That’s how we ended up becoming good friends. But that’s the only connection I have, and it’s a little while since we’ve spoken, but I have no relation with Kendrick or any persons making an appearance. So if he pops out, if he shows up, it will be news to me too.”
In another fascinating development, Strickland emerged victorious in his match against Ricochet, securing his spot as the number one contender for the AEW World Title. This thrilling match took place last night at AEW Revolution 2024.
