At the AEW Revolution 2025, a No. 1 contender’s match took place between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet. More was at stake than just an opportunity at the title; Prince Nana’s robe was the bone of contention between Strickland and Nana. Failure for Strickland would not only mean a setback in his pursuit of the world title but also raised doubts about Nana’s continued role as his manager.
The battle was fierce and at one point saw Nana walk away from the ringside. Any moment of ascendancy for Strickland was quickly countered by Ricochet. Even when Nana snatched the robe while Ricochet was sidetracked, Ricochet managed to retrieve it and heightened the suspense with a series of near-falls.
With vocal ringside support from comedians Ken Jeong, Leslie Jones, and Brad Williams, Strickland executed a series of House Calls and a Big Pressure for the victory; deeming him the next challenger for the world title and regaining Nana’s robe. A celebration was in order as Nana embraced him in the ring post win.
AEW Revolution is still in progress, but who Strickland will challenge in his world title match remains to be seen, so keep an eye on the continued results and find out who comes out on top between Jon Moxley and Cope!
