The Blue Meanie says he was surprised to see Paul Heyman accept an induction into this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame Class.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, the ECW Original said,
“Because, knowing Paul, Paul’s probably thinking, ‘Hey, I’m just getting started. My career’s not over; I’m still active. To Paul, his best work is still yet to come. And to go in this early, to him, I think he would have maybe fought it.”
He continued, “But Paul’s been a huge part of my career, a huge part of my life. I don’t know where I would be in my life without pro wrestling. And I certainly don’t know where I would have been if Raven and Stevie [Richards] hadn’t presented me to Paul, [and] if Paul hadn’t gone, ‘Yeah, let’s give this kid a try.’ And not only did he give me a try, he allowed me to make mistakes and learn from mistakes.”
Swerve Strickland believes he’s made a big impact on the direction of Hangman Page’s character in AEW.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “In the Kliq” podcast, Strickland commented on his belief that the two of them exceeded expectations for their feud. He said,
“It’s not what Hangman has brought out of me, it’s what I brought out of Hangman. This man has completely changed and altered in a lot of ways, and it shows the influence I have on Hangman.”
He continued, “It shows my influence that I have on the product itself, it was two men that nobody expected to cross paths in the way that we did, and we exceeded expectations for our performances and what we delivered in the ring.”
Samoa Joe defeated Strickland and Page to retain his AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution 2024.
Paul Heyman’s Induction into the WWE Hall of Fame Surprises The Blue Meanie
The wrestling world was taken by surprise when it was announced that Paul Heyman would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024. One person who was particularly shocked by this news was The Blue Meanie, an ECW Original who has had a long history with Heyman.
In a recent interview on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, The Blue Meanie expressed his surprise at Heyman’s acceptance of the induction. He explained that he believed Heyman would have fought against it, as he still considers himself to be an active and evolving figure in the wrestling industry. Heyman always strives for his best work and feels that his career is far from over.
The Blue Meanie went on to express his gratitude towards Heyman for the significant impact he has had on his own career and life. He credited Heyman for giving him a chance in pro wrestling and allowing him to make mistakes and learn from them. Without Heyman’s support and guidance, The Blue Meanie believes he wouldn’t have achieved the success he has today.
In another wrestling promotion, AEW, Swerve Strickland believes he has made a significant impact on the direction of Hangman Page’s character. Speaking on the “In the Kliq” podcast, Strickland discussed how he exceeded expectations in his feud with Page.
Strickland emphasized that it wasn’t just about what Hangman brought out of him, but also what he brought out of Hangman. He claimed that his influence completely changed and altered Hangman’s character in various ways. Strickland also mentioned that their unexpected crossing of paths resulted in performances and in-ring delivery that exceeded expectations.
However, despite their efforts, Samoa Joe ultimately defeated Strickland and Page to retain his AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution 2024.
The wrestling world is constantly evolving, and the influence of individuals like Paul Heyman and Swerve Strickland can have a profound impact on the careers and characters of those they work with. Whether it’s through guidance and support or pushing boundaries and exceeding expectations, these figures shape the future of professional wrestling.
