At the WWE NXT Heritage Cup that took place this past Tuesday on NXT TV, Lexis King emerged victorious against Charlie Dempsey. Their match was marked by an unexpected intervention from William Regal, who ill-timed King, paving the way for Dempsey to pick up a random object unnoticed. However, this resulted in the referee disqualifying Dempsey, awarding the trophy to King instead.
An aspect worth noting is that though King was struck by Regal with brass knuckles, the latter didn’t hand them off to his son, Charlie. Interestingly, the knuckles somehow ended up in King’s hands and were flung into the air as Regal delivered a mighty blow.
Following his win, King took to social media expressing his attachment to his Heritage Cup, even jestingly putting it above his girlfriend. In a humorous tweet, he said, “I woke up this morning next to the love of my life! My girlfriend was there as well!!! Merry Christmas everyone 😂👑🎄”
In other related news in the WWE entertainment scene, John Cena made an appearance in the Netflix NFL Christmas Gameday pre-show vignette. CM Punk was also featured along with comedians Bert Kreischer and Nate Bargatze in Thursday’s Netflix pre-game show before the Christmas Day NFL games.
Many WWE Superstars spread joy and cheers to their fans via their social media handles on this festive season. From sharing their family photos to personal concert wishes, the stars connected with their fans conveying their holiday spirits. As thousands of fans followed, liked, and responded to their updates, it was a warm sight indeed.
