Sumie Sakai Re-Signs With ROH
ROH veteran performer Sumie Sakai has once again re-upped with the company. Sakai has wrestled for ROH on and off since 2002, becoming the first Women of Honor champion in 2018. Before the global pandemic shut down ROH’s ongoing production, Sakai had turned heel after a particularly devastating loss to The Allure, but it’s unclear if that will still be the case when she returns.
Pure Title Gauntlet Announced
Final Battle 2020 saw a huge confrontation between The Foundation and La Facción Ingobernable, and that feud seems to be set to dominate ROH well into 2021.
The titles of the promotion are split between the two groups, and The Foundation looks to take inspiration from the recent revival of the Pure title and “purify” every division in ROH.
However, current titleholder and Foundation member Jon Gresham will need to watch his back, as a gauntlet match between four up and coming stars in the ROH Dojo has been signed. The winner will receive a shot at Gresham’s title at a future date.
