The subscription count for New Japan World has experienced a downward trend, falling back to its 2018 levels.

According to the latest report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current subscription base sits at 100,000. This indicates a substantial decrease from the 140,000 total reported during the Wrestle Kingdom event in January 2023, which featured the acclaimed match between Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega.

The previous count of 100,000 was recorded in January 2018, during which time the much-anticipated bout pitted Kenny Omega against Chris Jericho, drawing considerable attention.

This drop in subscription numbers suggests a waning level of popularity for New Japan Pro-Wrestling in recent times, when compared to former years. New Japan World has been in operation since 2015 and started with an initial 20,000 subscribers.

Interestingly, there is an observable pattern with the subscription numbers, as they tend to spike every January at the time of Wrestle Kingdom and in the summer during G1.
