Subscriber Numbers for Peacock Decline, Donovan Dijak Discusses Cody Rhodes’ Chair Hit

NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, saw an unexpected decline in subscriber numbers during the 2024’s second quarter.

As reported by industry publication, Variety, the streaming platform’s subscribers decreased from 33.5 million to 33 million in the three months to June 2024. Despite the reduction, Peacock still managed to increase its revenues by 28% to reach billion. Furthermore, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) loss was cut from 1 million the previous year to 8 million.

In related news, during a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, notable professional wrestler Donovan Dijak, disclosed details about a 2017 incident involving his fellow wrestler Cody Rhodes. The incident, which happened at the ROH Undisputed Legacy event in March 2017, saw Rhodes strike Dijak in the face with a chair while the latter was seated on another chair. Recalling the event, Dijak said,

“I told him — and this is a direct quote and I’ll remember it, because he said it a lot of times after. I told him, ‘I want you to be like Barry Bonds, just swing away.’ [laughs] And he was like ‘okay if that’s what you want.’”

Dijak continued, “The most viral video of it was like a fan holding a grainy cell phone camera, because it was back in 2016 or 2017. And the fan’s like screaming, like ‘OOOH!’”
