Swerve Strickland has expressed appreciation for being granted a shot with the AEW World Title.

Strickland secured his World Championship at AEW Dynasty. Recently, Chase McCabe spoke with him, exploring the battles he fought to seize his present position. He shared,

“Certainly, AEW offered me chances, but I still had to engage in the fight and snatch those opportunities while taking risks. Pursuing the top reward isn’t possible without encountering higher risks. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the platform to truly express my creativity. The freedom to execute in my style is invaluable to me.”

Strickland further added, “One of the greatest rewards of this profession is getting time in the ring. With AEW I’ve had time to perform against legends such as Will Ospreay, Claudio Castagnoli, Kyle Fletcher, The Elite, Brian Cage, and future legends like Christan, Samoa Joe. Moreover, I could still be true to who I am and do things my way. AEW facilitated that and for this, I’ll always be incredibly respectful, loving, and appreciative.”

Recently, Tony Schiavone was awarded the 2024 Gordon Solie Award by the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. He discussed this honor on his podcast “What Happened When.” He remarked,

“I’ve maintained a distance from Hall of Fames traditionally, viewing them as accolades for those who took the hits in the ring. However, when Gerald Briscoe reached out, I simply couldn’t refuse.”

He further reflected, “How does it feel? I’m deeply honored. I don’t wish to belittle it, or make the Hall of Fame appear trivial. It may not be a huge deal for me personally, but I understand that it might be for the fans. Their support means a lot to me.”
