If Brock Lesnar stepping back into an octagon seems like a blurry mirage to you, Stipe Miocic paints a clear picture of how that fight would go.
Chris Van Vliet spoke with UFC World Heavyweight Champion weeks after he won the rubber match between himself and Daniel Cormier. About thirty minutes into the chat, CVV asked Stipe straight out if if he’d be up for a bout against Brock and added that it would be a quick night for him.
“Yeah, I’ll fight anyone,” said Miocic “There’s no question. I don’t care. I would take that fight in a heartbeat. It would be an early night for me.”
Stipe’s night was nothing but early in that third fight against Cormier as the two went the distance with one another, lasting all five rounds. That battle wasn’t without its share of controversy as Miocic inadvertently poked Cormier in the eye, causing the challenger to lose his vision. Stipe apologized to Cormier afterwards in what was supposed to be his retirement fight. Cormier, however, didn’t completely close the door on a return, stating afterwards that “I’m not interested in fighting for anything but titles.”
