In a fresh installment of the podcast “Busted Open Radio,” former WWE icon Nic Nemeth shared his reflections on Sting’s tenure with AEW, leading up to his retirement earlier in 2024 at the AEW Revolution event.
Do check out the key points from the conversation here:
Concerning Sting’s stint with AEW, Nemeth remarked, “Witnessing him in AEW was astounding. Every week was an awe-inspiring experience given the numerous talented newcomers. The plethora of quality individuals there performing various roles added to the experience. Observing Sting exceed expectations every night, making efforts to create something unique, was truly impressive. However, things might not have worked out, he might have quickly moved to WWE. But the uncertainty remained.”
Touching upon Sting’s successful run in AEW, Nemeth said, “It’s possible that we never see him become part of AEW. Perhaps he’s retired and over or working behind the velvet rope in WWE now. Whichever way it turned out, I’m extremely glad it happened the way it did, because witnessing Sting in AEW over the last year or two was absolutely fantastic.”
