After RAW tonight, WWE will air a Table For 3 starring three TNA legends: AJ Styles, Sting, and Jeff Jarrett. They discussed the promotion’s iconic six-sided ring in a newly released clip.
“I hated it,” revealed Sting. His reasoning? “Too many years wrestling in the squared circle … It just changed the dynamic of everything. You know, I suppose it’s good for some and not so good for others.”
Jeff Jarrett recalls asking Hulk Hogan why he disliked it and received a similar answer. “Ah, brother, it’s just not right.” Jarrett also mentioned that their unique ring is the only thing that got them shelf space in the toy market.
One fan of the ring was AJ Styles. “I thought it made us so different from anything anybody else was seeing,” explained the former TNA Champion. “It was kind of like, you know with cage fighting, it looked like that. It made it more sport-oriented, being so different than the box ring. It looked like MMA. It was different.”
