Stevie Richards laid waste to John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield during an episode of SmackDown in 2005 and had to deal with The Undertaker afterward.

During the ECW One Night Stand 2005 event, JBL delivered some real punches to the Blue Meanie which left the BWO member bleeding by the end of the show.

In response to JBL’s attack, WWE booked a match between the two for the July 7, 2005 episode of SmackDown.

During the match, Richards would deliver an unprotected chair shot to the head of JBL, who bled heavily after the spot.

While speaking on “Wrestling Shoot Interviews,” Stevie Richards recalled speaking to The Undertaker after the spot. He said,

“So he comes up to me, he goes, ‘Hey! Let me talk to you for a second.’ His demeanor wasn’t intimidating, but he was like, ‘Hey, our roster’s really thin right now. We can’t afford to lose anybody. What you just did there, we’re probably gonna be down a guy.’ And I go to Taker, ‘I swear to God, I did not do it purposely. I didn’t do it. I’m waiting back here to see if he’s okay, so if he comes back here and punches me or does whatever, I’m standing right here, I’m not running from it.’”

While JBL took that chair shot, it is not known whether he received a punishment from WWE for his attack on Meanie, and would (in character) brag about the incident at One Night Stand 2006.
