During the latest episode of WWE NXT, the show’s general manager, Ava, made a significant announcement. Despite retaining her NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship titles just last week, Stephanie Vaquer was going to have to give up one of her titles. Ava explained that the decision was made in the best interest of the division.
Vaquer will be releasing the NXT Women’s North American Championship and a new champion will be declared at WWE Stand & Deliver. The crown will be passed to the victor of a six-woman ladder match, with qualifier matches determining the challengers.
The WWE shared the announcement on Twitter, causing a stir among fans:
“I will give up the North American Title, under one condition…”@Steph_Vaquer wants to continue pushing the Women’s Division forward, but she also wants something in return. #WWENXT
Vaquer has conditions for relinquishing the title – she wants to select her challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship. This proposition led Jordynne Grace and Jaida Parker attempt to convince Vaquer they should be the number one contenders. This led to a brawl as Ava and Vaquer left the area.
During the same episode, Zaria bested Lash Legend in the first qualifying match. A second qualifying match between Roxanne Perez and Kelani Jordan was announced but has yet to take place. No announcements were made about competitors for the remaining four spots.
Fans are eagerly awaiting to find out who will join Vaquer, Grace, and Parker in the ladder match at Stand & Deliver. Any updates will be added here.
