Stephanie Vaquer Retained Both Titles, So Now What’s Next? | Question Of The Day

It’s time for yet another eWrestlingNews Discussion of the Day!

In a remarkable turn of events, last night’s NXT episode saw Stephanie Vaquer manage to hold on to both her NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship titles. Given the uncommon dual title defense scenario, many, including myself, anticipated this would be WWE’s method of relieving Vaquer of her Women’s North American title. But, since this hasn’t been the case, I’ve been left pondering over WWE’s potential strategies.

Thus, today’s query revolves around this: “What strategy do you believe WWE has lined up for these two titles going forward?”

Feel free to share your thoughts and views in the comments section below.

My analysis…

It appears that WWE is centring their attention on Jordynne Grace as a potential contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. Can we expect to see Grace battling it out for the title against Vaquer at the upcoming Stand & Deliver? Let’s wait and see.

While the aforementioned match is likely, other contenders may join the fray. Could we see Jaida Parker get involved? Maybe, but considering her clean loss in a previous title shot, it might make less sense for her to remain in the ring. Comparatively, former champion Rhea Ripley, despite her clean loss, continues her fight against Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Championship. Will Parker follow this trend, despite simply being a failed challenger?

As for Vaquer, is the plan to have her defend both of her titles at the Stand & Deliver event? If they pursue this route, it would likely mirror the sequence from last night’s episode.

I envisage Vaquer defending her Women’s North American title in a contest featuring multiple wrestlers, including, but not limited to, Kelani Jordan, Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice, and Jaida Parker. This could potentially play out in various formats, but I doubt it will be a simple one-on-one.

I suspect Vaquer’s loss of the primary women’s title to Grace may culminate in the finale, featuring Oba Femi, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans in a triad battle for the men’s NXT Championship – which may end in a victory for Trick.

As for the rumors about Giulia’s visa issues, they might have forced WWE to adjust their plans. WWE perhaps initially planned to have Vaquer defend the WNA title and Giulia face Grace, given their past encounters. With Giulia unable to participate, they might have devised a plan that eventually circles back to the original intent, but with Vaquer replacing Giulia.

These are my current predictions. Admittedly, my track record, as evidenced by the unexpected retention of Vaquer’s titles last night, isn’t perfect. Certainly, there’s ample room for sudden twists and turns. So, what’s your take on this narrative? Feel free to share!
